Monday: Acquired a wheelchair and busted Gerald out of his new ends to watch the bowls. First time he’s been outside in nearly a year, what a treat to see how happy he was. Stepping outside might seem like a small thing we all take for granted but what a reminder to enjoy the little things in life ❤️ Forgot to bring the snap cards so downloaded Snapchat to give him a laugh 😂

G Unit special ☀️ update for his fans. Thanks for all the check ins over the past few weeks. Sketchy at times to say the least from him being fully spark out, me dashing around the country and trying to spoon feed him mashed bananas. He’s much better now and showing that swag doesn’t fade even at 100 🙂‍↔️ He’s still in hospital but polished off 2 contraband Easter eggs and is a million times better. Hopefully I’ll be able to get him out for some hot laps of Swanage soon 💨 ❤️‍🩹

What a week we’ve had at the World Winter Swimming Championships in Oulu, Finland 🇫🇮

Over 250 athletes represented the UK including a crack team of 65 global bluetits. Competing alongside teams and individuals from over 50 countries in below freezing water.

We just missed breaking the world relay record but what a time we had. Several of our team are dripping in bling - with multiple Gold, Silver and Bronze medals en route back to all corners of the UK. But most of all we had fun and met some amazing new friends from around the globe.

Quite an experience as my first swimming event and a reminder to us all to challenge ourselves, try something new and live outside comfort zones - we are all capable of much more than we think. Don’t get too busy to enjoy life, be busy enjoying life 🌎

Massive thanks to the Bluetits, to Dryrobe and John Fowler holidays for our very swish and very warm dryrobes and all of our new friends from around the world. Especially Team Guernsey (see you soon!!)

Never visited before but what a great place. As a non EV’er I love the old electric tekkers, think I’ll do a day as a driver here soon!

Saw loads of birds today including 2 lifers for me - a Cetti’s Warbler and a few Whitethroats. Lovely to catch up with my friends too down here who tagged on while Albs 🐦 watched discovery channel at the Airbnb.

A real blessing today to take Gerald (who’s 99 now) out for the 1st time since Sept (minus his stint in hospital) the wonder and gratitude he has for even the fresh breeze is a good reminder - often the small things and joys in life we overlook and take for granted. Fast forward 12 years - I’m working in Washington again. Managed to whizz over to Alexandria and catch up with @olcliffyboy who I met on a flight to LA about 12 years ago!!

Super, super busy but great as always with the amazing Wessex Astrological Society who came in and did several talks and shared their knowledge, the observatory and telescopes with everyone. After 3 weeks on the road in the All New Mazda CX-80 whizzing around the UK network running in dealer training sessions, I thought I’d share some of my favourite bits about the CX-80!

🚀 I was genuinely really impressed with the performance of the 2.5 PHEV that I drove; considering the size of the car and compared to its competitors, it really was a pleasant surprise.

🧳 Loads of fully usable and flexible space inside for actual adults in row 3 or as much “stuff” as you’ll ever need.

🚗 Great towing capacity (2.5 tonnes) and towing usage with a towing view camera if you get yourself a Mazda genuine towbar!

I don’t need a 7-seat car—it’s just me and my budgie—but if I did, this would be up there as a solid option!

One of the reasons I love birding is the people and the passion they have, listen how happy we are to see the wee guy get whipped out the swag bag!!! Magic!
